NASHVILLE--The Nashville Predators got a goal from Joel Ward to take a 1-0 lead over the Blackhawks after two periods Thursday night at the Sommet Center.
Ward and the Preds cashed in at the 14-minute-53-second mark of the second on the power play after Cam Barker was sent off for cross-checking. Francis Bouillon sent a fine centering pass to the crease where Ward tipped it past Hawks goaltender Cristobal Huet.
The Hawks' power play continues to struggle as they were denied on all four opportunities.
After two periods, the Predators have out shot the Hawks 15-14.
