The first period featured hard hits between the Original Six teams, including the Hawks' Andrew Ladd drilling Matt D'Agostini near the Montreal bench. Ladd, who appeared to leave his feet on the hit, hit D'Agostini with his shoulder and elbow and the Canadiens winger had to be helped to the dressing room.
The check sparked a skirmish and resulted in Ladd drawing a game misconduct penalty. Was it the right call? Watch the clip below and be the judge.

There was no elbow in this hit it was all shoulder. He also didn't leave his feet till after he made contact. It was a little high but that's what you get for skating with your head down. Same thing happened to Toews a few games ago, and everyone knew it was clean.
legal all the way. Every pee wee learns soon enough to keep his head up along the boards. If you take this kinda play out of the game you might as well play no check
That was a dirty flying elbow. Do not be surprised when the fine and suspension come down.
That was a clean solid hit. Bad call on the refs part, but understandable. Ladd's feet came off the ice as a result of the impact.
If you don't think that was an illegal hit you are the most bias journalist in the NHL.
