The White Sox have expressed interest in free agent and longtime nemesis Coco Crisp, according to his agent.
"I have talked to (general manager) Kenny Williams on a preliminary basis," Steve Compte said Tuesday. "We're going to be a little patient. We haven't talked dollars. We're trying to identify the teams where there's definitely a fit, and I'm sure they want to explore other options."
Nevertheless, Crisp, 30, provides the Sox with a strong option at the leadoff spot as a switch hitter and in center field if they do not re-sign Scott Podsednik. Crisp was limited to 49 games last season with Kansas City, which gave him a $500,000 buyout instead of picking up an $8 million option for 2010.

Compte said Crisp is expected to be fully recovered from right shoulder surgery by spring training.
Before undergoing season-ending surgery on June 24, Crisp was batting .228 with 13 stolen bases. Crisp is a lifetime .277 hitter with a .331 on-base percentage. He batted .300 with Cleveland in 2005, and he stole 28 bases with Boston in 2007.
Crisp is a lifetime .311 hitter against the Sox. He is a career .280 hitter from the right side and .276 from the left side.
Compte believed Kansas City would make an effort to re-sign Crisp but added that teams are still waiting for the free agent market to become more defined from an economical standpoint.

I got so tired of watching Coco's finger to the heavens routine that I really don't want him. Even when he does something right, that stupid act irritates the bejeebers out of me. God has better things to do than to watch you, Coco man. Move along. Show's over. Nothing to see here.
Is there any question that I--the great one--have dominated these boards?
Just look how many impersonators I have?
It's like the Beatles in the early 1960s.
If Kenny Williams doesn't stop trolling Kansas City for their castoffs, I'm going to flip out. How many losers can we get from them or after them before we realize that the Royals are one of the worst run franchises in baseball. They have such a lack of talent, its not even funny. So if they want to get rid of someone, they either suck or (like Mike McDougal) or they are shedding salary for prospects (Teahan). Kansas City couldn't wait to be free of Crisp and his frequent injuries. That should tell you all you need to know. Please stay far, far away.
I'd take Crisp or Upton over Pods.
This ain't '05 and he had too many boneheaded mistakes for my tastes last year.
yeah,There is a big problem with Alex Rios and his goof ball batting stance. Throw in Coco and his rehab along with Quentin and his bad feet and the White Sox outfield could be in big trouble.
Coco is a great option , if not signing Pod's #1 choice Podsednik #2 Crisp as both good lead-off hitters and bunters...Crisp if healthy is a real good player and catalyst for a team as is Pods. If can stay away from trading players, much better for Sox.
If your gonna make a deal. BJ Upton has much more upside than Coco Crispies.
Hey NIck..
I'm just wondering...
What are the Sox going to give up to get BJ Upton?
I think is a very real option for the Sox, but I'd also take Podsednik.
I prefer Coco Crisp with skim milk & B.J. CF. (Trade Jenks.)
Reminds me too much of Swisher. The Sox have had success getting struggling pitchers and getting them turned around, but they've had no success doing this with position players.
Sounds like an attempt by Kenny to get Pod & his agent to lower their asking price. Crisp to the South Side isn't going to happen.
Ok, really Kenny, do not get him....while I don't think pods is better, I'd simply rather trade for BJ Upton
Coco is not an improvement over Podsednik! Signing Pods is the best idea.

GREAT, if he is playing AGAINST the Sox and not FOR the Sox.
