The Denver Post reports: Kyle Orton almost certainly won't play for the Broncos on Sunday against the San Diego Chargers because of a severely sprained left ankle.
Orton hasn't practiced all week, and backup Chris Simms figures to get the start. The Broncos are holding out slim hopes that Orton might feel he can play after testing the ankle before Sunday's game. The winner will claim sole possession of first place in the AFC West.
