Bears linebacker Lance Briggs had an MRI this morning to determine the severity of his left knee sprain, according to a league source.
Initial indications are that Briggs indeed suffered a mild sprain and could be ready to play against the Rams on Sunday, although his status for the game has yet to be determined.
Briggs has a high tolerance for pain, so any minor setback is unlikely to keep the Pro Bowl linebacker out of the lineup. He suffered the knee injury in the early stages of Sunday's 36-10 loss to the Vikings.
