Bears-Cardinals: Third-quarter impressions

By Vaughn McClure

Things didn't get much better for the Bears in the third quarter Sunday and they went scoreless in the period, trailing the Arizona Cardinals 34-7.

The loss of starters Charles Tillman (left shoulder) and Al Afalava (shoulder), along with special-teamer Garrett Wolfe (back), certainly didn't help matters.

Jay Cutler got into it with the officials and was flagged, meaning he is likely to get fined. But he had a point because tight end Greg Olsen did get held by Cardinals safety Adrian Wilson.

At least the Bears looked to be moving the ball better, and it led to an early score in the fourth quarter. But things still look bleak for Lovie Smith's team moving forward.

Well, the only thing more embarrassing than the Bears performance would be that the Packers are about to lose to an 0-7 team...hopefully

Not that it is going to matter, but the Arizona coach blew it switching QB's that early after an opposing TD.
