Bears' Pace could miss reunion with Rams

There is a strong chance Bears starting left tackle Orlando Pace might not face his former team Sunday as he continues to recover from a groin strain, a league source said today.

Pace suffered the injury in the third quarter of the Bears' 36-10 loss Sunday to the Vikings. He was evaluated today and could miss this Sunday's matchup against the St. Louis Rams, the team he spent 12 seasons with before signing with the Bears.

Coach Lovie Smith said Pace, linebacker Lance Briggs (knee), and cornerback Charles Tillman (mild concussion) were in the process of being evaluated, but expect Pace to be held out or at least limited during Wednesday's practice. Smith did not rule out giving right tackle Chris Williams a shot at his natural left-tackle spot if Pace is sidelined, although Kevin Shaffer replaced Pace against the Vikings.

Pace, 34, is certain to have some emotions when he sees his former teammates. He won a Super Bowl with the Rams, but St. Louis cut the seven-time Pro Bowler following last season.

"I've never been bitter with the Rams, even when I got released,'' Pace said. "I kind of knew it was going to happen. We talked about it.

"They looked at the salary cap and they needed to make changes. They needed to save room. They needed to move forward. I was OK with that. ... It was almost like a mutual thing."

The Chicago Bears will not win another football game this 2009 NFL season. They are one of the worst Bear teams of all time. Orlando Pace couldn't block a 98 year old lady, from getting on a broke down CTA bus, and is another "Football Bum," that includes quarterback Jay Cutler, on this 2009 Bear team. The Rams will beat the Bears, because all a team has to do is throw the football 40 yards down the middle of the Bear Defense which is still playing that terrible Cover 2 Defense, which was obsolete when the Bears lost the Superbowl.
