The Bears don't expect to be shut out by the Eagles tonight. Then again, they didn't expect to be shut out in the Pro Bowl either.
If the early fan voting trends hold up, the Bears will be shut out in the Pro Bowl. Of course, opponents also will have something to say about who plays in the game, as fans, players and coaches each get 1/3 of the vote.
With Brian Urlacher out for the year and no Chicago player having an exceptional season, Pro Bowl voters have turned a cold shoulder to the disappointing Bears.
Their best hopes?
Linebacker Lance Briggs has made four straight Pro Bowls, but he ranks fifth in voting. He probably will get some love from opposing players and coaches, and is the most deserving Pro Bowl candidate on the team.
Devin Hester ranks third in voting for return specialist, but Minnesota's Percy Havin has close to three times the number of votes as Hester. And Hester ranks that high more because of his reputation than his production.
Center Olin Kreutz has made six Pro Bowls, but he was not invited the last two seasons and he currently ranks fifth in fan voting.
As for Jay Cutler, he doesn't even rank in the top five vote getters at quarterback in the NFC. And he'd have to play awfully well down the stretch in order to leapfrog Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Aaron Rodgers, Eli Manning and Matt Ryan -- all of whom have received more votes.
Fans have five more weeks to vote -- or not -- at NFL.com.

On a good day Lovie is a joke and Angelo is inept. Angelo made QB a priority but forgot the offensive line and high quality wide receivers. Lovie's defense has been pathetic for a long time and is doomed by his poor coaching and schemes.
Angelo and Lovie can not properly evaluate talent and their high draft picks are wasted.
The McCaskeys are filling the stadium, they are very happy.
When fans stop going to Soldier Field they tend to respond
slowly to the overall loss of revenue.
If they dump the high priced Angelo, Lovie and Phillips, we will get more stinking trainees!!!!!!!!!!!!
Really? Does anyone on this team deserve to go? Hell no...Is that news to anyone? This team is on a downward slope along with their former Pro Bowlers Briggs, Hester, Urlacher and Kruetz. They are on their downside of their careers and we have no high draft picks next year! Horrible. Angelo's fingerprints are all over this train wreck...and he has til 2013? Ted Philips should be ashamed of himself if he doesn't let this architecture of mediocrity go...
