EDMONTON, Alberta -- After a rather eventful first period Saturday night, the action slowed a bit as the Blackhawks hold a 4-1 lead over the Oilers after two periods at Rexall Place.

Leading 3-1 heading into the second, John Madden scored midway through the period to increase the Hawks' lead to three. Cristobal Huet is having another solid night in goal for the Hawks as he and the team look for their sixth consecutive victory.

The Hawks are winning the war, but at least one Oilers fan won a small battle with a sign

In the first period, Kane extended his goals streak to five games and his points streak to nine (five goals, seven assists).

Kris Versteeg and Jonathan Toews also had first-period goals for the Hawks while Dustin Penner scored for Edmonton.
