The Blackhawks are expected to solidify their future in the next day or two when they sign young stars Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews to contract extensions.
According to a source close to the organization, the Hawks will sign the dynamic duo to new deals with an announcement coming some time before the team boards a plane to Calgary on Wednesday to begin a 10-day, six-game road trip.
The Hawks are also closing in on a new contract with defenseman Duncan Keith, according to the source. An announcement on the deals for all three players could come as soon as today.
