Chicago golf fans should circle these dates: Sept. 9-12, 2010. That's when defending champ Tiger Woods and the PGA Tour will return to Cog Hill for the BMW Championship, the third leg of the FedEX Cup playoffs.
Tournament officials had discussed moving the date back a week because the preceding Tour event, the Deutsche Bank Championship, has a Monday (Labor Day) finish. But the Tour decided to keep the status quo schedule: three FedEx Cup events, followed by an off week, then the Tour Championship.
The 2010 Ryder Cup will be played the week after the Tour Championship, in Wales.
