Terry Bradshaw, Jimmy Johnson pile on Jay Cutler

Things must be bad for the Bears when they are the hot topic of discussion on a day they don't even play.

At the start of "Fox NFL Sunday" Hall of Fame quarterback Terry Bradshaw suggested a couple of defensive players confront Cutler.

"He's the disappointment of the year but I wouldn't call him a bust," Bradshaw said. "When I had bad games in Pittsburgh, it wasn't uncommon for Joe Greene or Jack Lambert to get in my face.  Did I resent it?  No.  It actually helped me focus and realize it's all about the team."

Former coach Jimmy Johnson brought up Rex Grossman's name.

"Jay Cutler has thrown seven red zone interceptions in his last 11 games," Johnson said. "Tom Brady has six red zone interceptions in his entire career.  Now, we shouldn't be comparing Cutler to Brady.  We should be comparing Jay Cutler to Rex Grossman"

And ex-Giants defensive end Michael Strahan took it to the next level, calling out general manager Jerry Angelo.

"When you have a G.M. like Jerry Angelo who takes credit for bringing (Cutler) in, give him receivers," Strahan said. "Now that everybody's on  (Cutler's) back and the coach's back, that's when the G.M. needs to stand up and take that place and that credit that you took for bringing (Cutler) in, take the criticism now that he's not playing as well as you'd like."

Angelo was asked before Thursday's 10-6 loss at San Francisco if the criticism of the organization and head coach Lovie Smith has been unwarranted.

"When you play bad football games, you're fair game," he said. "That goes with the territory. ...You don't have any time to lament. You have to look forward to the next game. We've got to be back on track."

cutler in denver, had receivers, great offensive line and did not get it done, when it couted. one win in their last four and the broncos make the playoffs.check his q.b. rating in those four games.he has wacky "bio rythms".

Cutler hasn't played as well as he should. Too many ill-advised throws, especially in red zone.

His receivers are well below-average.

His offensive line is well below below-average!!!

The defense has holes.

The coaches aren't very good.

The GM isn't very good.

I don't know why everyone argues one thing against another. Grade each area separately. The grades aren't good. Period.

MJB: you're blaming Angleo and Smith for Colombo's injury?

You're an idiot.

Blame them for draft busts; blame them for not developing players, but don't blame them for a guy's freak injury and (necessarily) long recovery.

i would like to say this about the bears and their organization. this organization has been the laughing stock
of the nfl for sometime.remember michael told the press he had hired the next coach of the bears, and the coach whose name i think is mcginnis turned them down. never happened to any other team in nfl history.i would call them a minor league team for the nfl but they don't even deserve that. they are pop warner league judging by their performance.
this is not jay cutler's fault, for the bears gave jay a knife and sent him to a gun fight. what chance does he have. you can see he doesn't have time to throw or think.
yes, he came here a gunslinger but his gun is empty.you know the funnest part about all this is the recievers look to be the strongest part of the offense,go figure that one out.remember they brought in those wideouts who did nothing
but keep earl bennette off the field, and what about making earl learn three positions right out of college.they must have thought they were rocket scientists last year.the o line has more holes than a sponge has.how about that great running game.lovie, says we get off the bus running.well, they must be running for their lives.all the denfenses in the nfl has learned that while they are ganged up on the line of scrimage to stop the run they might as well say hi to jay cause the bears can't run.you see matt no run forte
needs holes you or i can run through to be effective.he doesn't hit the hole fast or hard that's why the bears are
one of the worse teams on third or fourth and one ortwo.
how about lovie who can't coach and must stick his head in the ground so he can't see what's going on around him. he needs to go don't send him a bus ticket, don't send him a plane ticket or rent a car. no, find him a boxcar and throw him in it and when someone says where's lovie just say no one knows where lovie goes. the only thing that's great about the bears now and forever is those fans who put up with such a poor product. there, that's the truth
about all this. love you bears fans.

Yet these same clowns consistently praise Tony Romo. Give me a break.

From watching the games, I see alot of Cutler trying to make plays around players without much talent, behind a line thats old or just not getting the job done. There is no running game, not too hard to figure for the defences. The only defence that couldn't stop the Bears is there own, Most of which is has beens, or never willbe's The 2 biggest problems for the Bears lack of tackling & blocking. By the time they fix it Cutler & Forte will be in wheelchairs. they need to get a GM, and a coaching staff First.

The biggest question mark going into this off-season to me, is the gaines Adams trade that we made. Regardless of what the staff thinks they can do with this guy, that was a bust in Tampa. Now we have really tied our hands behind our back, because now let's say Arizona is willing to do the trade for boldin for a 2nd round pick. We don't have the leverage we once had. Clearly it's time to get a coach in Chicago that has a proven offense that teams try tocopy cat. Cutler needs help on offense. The off-season needs to consist of bringing in proven OL and WR's. No more guys that we think we can coach up. How does this staff think they can coach guys up. When it's been pretty clear that a lot of the guys that leave will blossum on other teams? It's time to stop playing the mad scientist and make this off-season a priority on bringing in top tier FA
WR's and OL. Marshall should be this teams number 1 target if Denver does not offer him a contract for some odd reason, if they do then go after boldin again. We have to add at least 2 top
tier OL in the off season.

Cutler could use a receiver. Let's give Devin A a chance before the year is out. Cutler is a gun slinger. However, he obviously needs more time to process his thoughts in order to make a decision- a better decision! He needs an offensive line who will give him more time.

I agree with Michael Strahan about Jerry Angelo, but Lovie Smith deserves some blame. The worst part is, it's always somebody elses fault. It's Cedric Benson's fault for being a bust, Mark Columbo's for being injured, Ron Rivera's for losing the Super Bowl, and the list goes on and on. Until these Tampa Bay rejects are gone it'll be the same horseshit. Come on Ted, do your job.
