By Vaughn McClureLeadership has been a key topic when discussing the Bears' recent struggles. Lovie Smith said his players have the ability to display leadership by simply doing their jobs, starting Thursday night at San Francisco.
Quarterback Jay Cutler was asked about leadership during his Tuesday news conference.
"I think we know who the leaders are on this team,'' Cutler said. "There're a lot of leaders, not just the captains either. They're a lot of guys that have been around, a lot of guys that have been in this system with Lovie.
"I don't think we have any issues with leadership from the coaches or the players. Guys are definitely stepping up. We know that this is an important game for us.''
