Former Cubs phenom Mark Prior might not be done just yet. ESPN.com's Buster Olney reports that Prior, released last spring by the San Diego Padres after a failed comeback attempt from shoulder surgery, is working out and throwing off flat ground in preparation for auditioning with scouts.
Meanwhile, Kerry Wood -- the other half of the 1-2 power-pitching punch that Cubs fans envisioned leading the team to World Series glory -- popped up on Olney's Twitter account with the news that the Indians would consider moving the closer if they can find the right deal to shed his salary.
Wood, who was 3-3 with 20 saves and a 4.25 ERA for Cleveland last season, will be entering the second year of a two-year, $20.5 million contract).

You can't watch too much Eastbound and Down.
The sad fact is shoulder injuries like Prior's 95 out of 100 are career enders, this is a fact. Mark was a wonderful talent, and I hope he can pull this off. I don't think he was ever a slacker, he nearly got us to the WS. Good luck Mark!!!!
Mark Prior had 2 injuries on the field that resulted in his demise. The line drive off of Brad Hawpes bat that nearly shattered his elbow and the head on collision with the Braves 2nd baseman (name eludes me)
You jackasses need to get a grip....he wasnt lazy...he was a competitor that was injured. There is a difference. I will continue to pull for Mark Prior...It would be such a good comeback story.
Rehire Prior!
I said 5 years ago when injuries were plaguing both pitchers, after the tremendous potential (bad word)they had each shown--Cub history is loaded with pitching combos who were going to lead them to baseball glory. How about Drott and Drabowsky? Hobbie and Anderson? Reuschel and Bonham? Jenkins and Holtzman came close, but in 2004,I feared that Wood and Prior were already headed to young Cub pitching infamy. Sadly, that was the case. Blame Dusty? Nah--Blame the billy-goat.
Prior had all the talent to bad he is such a wimp.
These guys know that where there's a baseball GM,there's a sucker waiting to take a chance. And the two above are past masters at the game.
If the comeback doesn't work out for Prior, maybe he can come back to Naperville and sign autographs for some spare cash. He's a big hit there.
Yeah a team with no talent shouldn't be paying a guy who comes into the game based on the fact that his team is talented more than $10 million.
The Cubs should pick up both of these young guns, their pitching looks awfully thin for 2010.
These two are dead to me.
Mark Prior has obviously been watching too much "Eastbound and Down"
