The San Jose Mercury News reports: Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, a Michigan man who knows the rivalry with Notre Dame well and will see it again Saturday when the Irish travel to Palo Alto, has no interest in coaching the Irish should Charlie Weis be fired.
As columnist Tim Kawakami quotes Harbaugh: "I love Stanford, I'm only talking Stanford, and I will be at Stanford. God willing."
Irish fans, so far it looks like you can check off Urban Meyer and now, Harbaugh. And probably Kirk Ferentz and maybe Bob Stoops.

As an alumnus from Oklahoma, I have a hard time seeing Stoops leave one tradition-rich school for another. Especially when the other school can't compete with anyone. Stoops would be better off staying at Oklahoma and improve upon this year's injury-riddled season than to undergo a five-year rebuilding project (which is a conservative estimate considering the mess that is Notre Dame football right now).
It's a done deal. It's Stoops. Where there is smoke there is fire. That is the way I roll. I have a contact in Oklahoma that knows that I am overcaffeinated and run my own business. This is the same contact that told me Mike Brey was going to be the NC State coach. I love the Internet.
