Hinrich sits out Bulls practice

The short-handed Bulls are even more depleted with guard Kirk Hinrich sitting out Saturday's practice with his sprained left thumb. Coach Vinny Del Negro said Hinrich would visit a specialist on Monday to determine the length of his absence.

That places Hinrich's availability for Monday's game in Milwaukee doubtful.

Hinrich missed his first game of the season Thursday night in Utah after suffering the injury during Wednesday's practice in Beaverton, Ore. The injury is on the other thumb from the injury Hinrich suffered last season, when he needed surgery to repair a torn ligament in his right thumb and missed 31 games.

The Bulls have just 10 healthy bodies on their 13-man roster. Unless they sign a guard, Hinrich's absence would elevate Jannero Pargo to third guard and Lindsey Hunter to fourth guard.

Del Negro said the team would consider signing a guard should Hinrich be sidelined for any length of time. Hinrich declined to address reporters,
