CHAMPAIGN -- Illinois basketball coach Bruce Weber has said he hoped to have freshman guard Joseph Bertrand back from a knee injury by late November, but it looks as though Bertrand will be out longer than expected.
Weber said during his teleconference today that Bertrand will not even practice for the next two or three weeks, as he tries to rehabilitate his knee, which underwent surgery in September.
"There were some complications -- a bone bruise, swelling in the knee, swelling in the calf," Weber said. "I feel bad for the kid because he wants it so bad and he worked so hard to come back so fast."
Illinois will play Presbyterian in the first round of the Las Vegas Invitational at 7 p.m. Saturday at Assembly Hall.
