CHAMPAIGN - Illinois is set to tipoff at Assembly hall for what should be another easy nonconference win against Big South opponent Presbyterian, whose nickname is the Blue Hose, a nickname that could have a number of different origins, according to the school's official Web site.

One story claims t a group of Scots-Irish warriors called the Hose painted their bodies blue before fighting.

Presbyterian is in the transition stage of becoming a Division I program and will not be eligible to make the NCAA Tournament until next year. As a result, three of its best players -- Al'Lonzo Coleman, Pierre Miller and Josh Johnson -- are red-shirting this year to try and make a push for the Tournament next year. This is Illinois' first game in the Las Vegas Invitational.

In the starting lineup tonight for the Illini are Mike Davis, Mike Tisdale, D.J. Richardson, Brandon Paul and Demetri McCamey, the same as it was for the Illini's first two games.
