Michigan AD: Rodriguez will return as coach

richrod.JPGThe Detroit Free-Press reports: Michigan athletic director Bill Martin will not be in his position for next football season. But he said Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez will be.

"He will be our coach next year," Martin said today after a season-ending 21-10 loss to Ohio State in Ann Arbor, Mich.  "You're asking me today if he's going to be our coach, there's no if, ands or buts about it. He is our coach and he has my full support. He'll be there next year. No question about it."

Martin, who announced his retirement date as Sept. 4, 2010 but will be replaced if Michigan hires a successor sooner, implied these are discussions that have occurred with officials in the university as well.

"Rich Rodriguez is our coach, I and the administration fully support him and you'll see him in the future," Martin said.
