Ohio University held off Northern Illinois, 38-31, Saturday in Athens, Ohio, derailing the Huskies' hope for a Mid-American Conference-West title.
The Huskies (7-4, 5-2 in the MAC) travel to first-place Central Michigan next Saturday for the regular-season finale.
NIU and Ohio (8-3, 6-1) were tied 14-14 at the half, but the Bobcats answered every charge from the visitors in the second half.
NIU had its four-game win streak snapped. The Huskies' are 3-7 all-time at Ohio and have lost their last four trips to Peden Stadium.
