A Tulsa goal in the 74th minute was the difference in a 1-0 victory over Northwestern in a third-round NCAA tournament match today in Oklahoma.
Playing in a steady rain, the ninth-seeded Wildcats (11-5-4) never could sustain much offense against No. 8 Tulsa (15-4-2), which goes on to a quarterfinal matchup against the Akron-Stanford winner.
Northwestern also lost in the quarterfinals last season.
