SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Those at the final campus pep rally of the 2009 season Friday night got to cheer the outgoing Notre Dame seniors, at least theoretically, but their ability to jeer was preempted before the event even began.
Irish coach Charlie Weis was a no-show at the rally -- but before assuming it was yet another move aimed to mute the criticism, consider a couple extenuating factors. The entire Irish roster has only shown up for two rallies this season -- before the Nevada and USC games -- and only selected coaches have appeared at the other events as well.
One entity clinging to some faith in the Irish: the Gator Bowl. There are press box seats reserved for representatives from that game, and at 8-4, the Irish still would remain likely to receive an invite from a bowl that won't have a chance to get Notre Dame in the next cycle.
Notre Dame, too, likely is clinging to its rosaries for a Gator Bowl berth. If the Irish don't end up in Jacksonville, they are again bowl free-agents -- just as after the 2008 season, waiting for all other bowls to slot teams before they know their own fate.

As for one certainty in 2010, some basic logistics for the off-site home game at Yankee Stadium were decided this week when Notre Dame and NBC officials visited the venue. The field is going to run from home plate to centerfield -- mainly because there's no other way it would fit, and it's even tight at that.
After the presentation of colors Saturday, there will be a moment of silence for Connecticut defensive back Jasper Howard, who was stabbed to death in October.
The Graduation Success Rate stats were released this week, and Notre Dame's football program tied Duke with a GSR rating of 96 to lead all Football Bowl Subdivision Schools. Northwestern football had the third-highest GSR rating with a score of 92.

I had to refresh the page 2 times to view this page for some reason, however, the information here was work the wait.
Thanks for taking the time to discuss this, I feel strongly about it and love learning more on this topic. If possible, as you gain expertise, would you mind updating your blog with more information? It is extremely helpful for me.
ND has 2 choices:
1. Charlie will graciously resign his post as he even said his own record is "unacceptable" over 5 years ago. OR
2. Father Jenkins keeps Charlie Weis and goes into the Ivy League Division and football becomes a recreational game at ND. Since he invited Obama to graduation, it has changed the perception that ND is a great Catholic institution anymore so what does he really care about dropping ND football and breaking that tradition as well. We think it was Jenkins master plan anyways. Bets are it will be Father Jenkins and Charlie Weis to stay and then it is up to the ND Alumni networt to cease giving and buying football tickets until it is over.
