SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame tailback Armando Allen, the team's leading rusher, has a cracked bone in his right hand and likely will not play against Stanford this weekend.
"He has a cracked bone in his right hand that he'll get fixed today, which will leave him probably out for this game," Irish coach Charlie Weis said Tuesday.
Allen has 697 yards and three touchdowns on the season to pace the Irish. The load in the backfield will then fall to some combination of Robert Hughes, Theo Riddick and Jonas Gray, Weis said.
"What we'll do, it'll be Riddick, Hughes and we'll get Jonas some in the mix this week, too," Weis said.
