It has been a sweet afternoon for fans of Boise State and the Big Ten.
The biggest obstacle to landing an at-large BCS berth has been cleared. Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State 27-0, meaning that the Cowboys will fall to 9-3 and get bounced from the BCS bowl picture.
Heading into Saturday, the Fiesta Bowl seemed to have four candidates for two spots: Oklahoma State, Boise State, Iowa and Penn State. So now a Boise State vs. Big Ten matchup is the favorite in the clubhouse. (This assumes Texas wins the Big 12 title game and goes to the BCS title game)
Iowa should jump to 9th and Penn State to 10th in the next batch of BCS standings, which will be released Sunday. Both will finish the season in the top 14, making them eligible for selection. But only one can be chosen.
Iowa clearly deserves the nod because of its 21-10 victory at State College on Sept. 26. But the lure of JoePa, Penn State's national following and its 6-0 record at the Fiesta Bowl will make for a lively debate among bowl officials.

No Bowl for Notre Dame 6-6 record (elgible yes. But will pass as Weiss gone and would be a weasel/puppet bowl as said. Over-rated and will never get back to promience as it once was. With so many schools all overt the nation vying for players now. Not like only 10-12 top teams as 20-30 years ago.Now have 20-25 that can beat most any other team , other than Florida, Texas and maybe Alabama.

All Illinois and NW fans.

Instead of Pat Fitz - NW..
Even Spiegel on Score agreed vehemently on Pat Fitz..
Then he says blah blah .. on NW... What a obvious ND salesman and puppet.
Pat fitz knows. and told him to check on NW fan travelling better than Missouri fans .. Tried to spin it so NW gets lower bowl game ( with pay out of $1 million instead of $3 million).. who was covering ND a weasel school last year..
ND is going to weasel/puppet bowl.. this year..
