ESPN.com reports: Former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan apparently is at the top of the Bills' list of candidates to replace the fired Dick Jauron.
ESPN.com's Adam Schefter, citing two NFL sources, said the Bills have contacted and are in the process of arranging a meeting with Shanahan, an Oak Park native who played at East Leyden High School and Eastern Illinois. Shanahan is said to be willing to listen to their offer.
Jauron, a former Bears coach, was fired Tuesday after compiling a 24-33 record over three-plus seasons and replaced on an interim basis by defensive coordinator Perry Fewell.
