The Orlando Sentinel reports: Tiger Woods' wife used a golf club to smash a window of his Cadillac Escalade and get her injured husband out of the SUV after he crashed into a fire hydrant and tree early Friday morning outside his Isleworth mansion, Windermere Mayor Gary Bruhn said.
In addition, a call report compiled by the Orange County Sheriff's Office and obtained by the Orlando Sentinel indicated Woods was unconscious but breathing when officers arrived on the scene. Woods was unconscious for about six minutes.
Elin Nordegren Woods was in the couple's home shortly before 2:30 Friday morning when she heard the accident and came outside. She broke one of the windows and freed her husband from the SUV, Bruhn said.
Bruhn said Woods had cuts on his lips and blood in his mouth. Officers gave Woods first aid until medical personnel arrived.
Orange County Fire Rescue received the call for aid at 2:28 a.m. Woods was transported from his Windermere-area neighborhood by the hospital's own ambulance.
It is not known whether Woods was wearing a seat belt. FHP said alcohol is not considered a factor in the accident.
FHP troopers arrived at the Woods' home early Friday evening to talk to the golfer, FHP spokeswoman Kim Montes said. Woods wife told them Woods was resting and asked them to return Saturday morning. They agreed.
"People's health comes first," Montes said, noting that it is routine to agree to return to conduct an interview.
The sheriff's office would not identify who dialed 911, and emergency audio tapes were not available on Friday.
According to his official website, TigerWoods.com, he is in the middle of a two-week break in tournament play. Woods next tournament is Dec. 3-6 at the Chevron World Challenge in Thousand Oaks, Calif.

They’d have to admit she freaked out, used her cat claws on him, he bolted out with her in pursuit with a golf club, and smashing the rear windows out. He then loses control and hits the fire hydrant and tree coming to a stop. He gets out of the car and she knocks him out cold with the golf club. The cops come and they begin their damage control. Case closed, another superstar athlete cheating on his spouse. No big deal.

I can't believe how the sheriff and Tiger's friends are trying to cover for him.
How is it that his wife happens to carry a golf club at 2:30AM in the morning? And she's awake? Why would Tiger leave his house at 2:30AM? Not one of the doors is unlocked in the Escalade? Maybe they automatically close, so why doesn't she get the spare keys? There was no fire or air bag deployment, so why the rush to break the back windows?
TMZ is saying his wife attacked Tiger and scratched his face, and went after him in his car with a golf club. She was upset over reports he was cheating.
This scenario fits perfectly with the physical facts in the case. I got to hand it to Tiger for being so self-restrained. Men don't get enough credit for the mental abuse they take from women, even physcial abuse. So Tiger cheated? Whooopeeedo. Men can certainly fail over worse things.

As to the question of which club she used to break the windows? Certainly not a putter, probably a hybrid rescue club.

FHP - Florida Highway Patrol - who have taken over the investigation. I believe we will get the whole story soon. The longer he waits, the worse it looks. Tiger has worked hard to guard his image. He wont let this ruin it. Good luck Tiger.

To all of the idiots on here criticizing Woods for being out at 2:30 a.m., you have no idea what the whole story is. Maybe he had a seizure. Maybe something else happened. There ain't a person on here who has enough information to judge. I am not some Tiger fanboy, just someone who is sick of everyone acting like they know the definitive answer based on 5% of the pertinent information.
Now the big question. Which club did Tiger's wife use to break out the window? I figure a wedge would be easy to control, and has a heavy blade. Then again, a mallet putter might do a good job.
Huge fan of Tiger and hopefully he's fine. Alternate theory: He was leaving due to a domestic disturbance; if you are driving less than 33mph and hit a tree; fire hydrant garbage can or whatever as reported & the airbags didn't deploy it seems illogical that she would need to smash a back window to drag him from the vehicle. Obviously more to the story and we may see that.. But perhaps Mrs Woods, was upset at him over something and that golf club wasn't to pull him out of the vehicle.. Hmmm???

I am glad that Tiger is ok. The fact that it was 2:30 has nothing to do with this story.I know plenty of "night owls" and there is NOTHING wrong with them other then the fact that they like to stay up late. The only people it bothers are the folks who go to sleep at 10 and think that anything other then the way they act is "different" and weird. They are wrong!

Wait a minute ... TMZ has a photo of the fire hydrant. It's on the property of the neighbor to the right. The article here implies that Woods hit the fire hydrant while exiting his own property. Apparently not! Apparently he hit it while driving down the street in front of his neighbor's property!
Orlando Sentinel has an overhead photo and I don't see a fire hydrant anywhere near the homes.

He was either drunk, or driving at an excessive speed. How do you hit a fire hydrant and a tree if you're not doing one or both.

I think Tiger Woods needs to take some rest. He is working too hard in maintaining his sharp golfing skills. My heart goes out to him and his family. However Tiger Woods needs some rest. For crying out loud its the Thanksgiving holiday. He can at least take a break from preparing for upcomming golfing competitions.
Anyway my heart goes out to him. Hopes he gets well soon.
