Time magazine has named Thierry Henry the biggest cheat in sports history, two spots ahead of the 1919 White Sox. The French striker twice used his hand yesterday in setting up a decisive goal in a victory over Ireland in a World Cup qualifier. The goal denied the underdog Irish a spot in South Africa and instantly turned Henry into one of the world's most hated men.
Eight members of 1919 White Sox were banned from baseball for throwing the World Series. Some, like Buck Weaver, maintained his innocence until his death. Henry, on the other hand, admitted he cheated in his post-match comments.
It's interesting that the Black Sox even make Time's list, which is from a world sporting perspective, especially considering the disgraceful doping histories of the Olympics and professional cycling. It also overlooks such notable stateside cheats as Gaylord Perry, Marion Jones, Rosie Ruiz, Sammy Sosa and A-Rod.

How is it odd to single Thierry Henry out?
Here is a guy who has always pretended to be above the fray, does "fairplay" campaigns for the sport and is caught blatantly cheating and admits it!
And the silence from FIFA and EUFA on the subject is very telling.
Thierry Henry deserves the roasting that he is getting.
Odd to single out Henry... since Diego Maradona did the same thing in the 1986 World Cup with his "Hand of God"
