SCOTTDALE, Ariz. -- Curtis Granderson is just like Detroit Tigers fans and others around baseball. He doesn't know if he's going to stay with the Tigers or be traded this winter, as has been rumored since early November.
He says that, for now, nothing has changed.
"I'm still wearing the old English 'D,' " Granderson told the Tribune today at a meeting of the players union's executive board. "I'm getting ready to go to Lakeland [Fla.] for spring training. That's the only clarification I have at this point.''
Granderson's availability has drawn the interest of the Cubs, Yankees and Angels, among other teams.

MLB sources indicate that the Tigers are asking for multiple
major-league-ready players to move Granderson or right-hander Edwin
Jackson. The Cubs, according to team
sources, would love to fill their center-field vacancy with Granderson,
but aren't willing to part with top prospect Starlin Castro, a
19-year-old shortstop.
The Cubs would like to deal Milton Bradley before commiting to Granderson, as his addition would force Kosuke Fukudome to move to right field, Bradley's position. Talks are expected to heat up at next week's winter meetings, if not before.

We should now have the money to send Milton to the D-Rays for Burrell... Then ship Burrell to the Met for Castillo... Then package some prospects for Granderson... Think of the speed we could have...
