Marian Hossa didn't just wow the United Center crowd with his highlight-reel goal Sunday night: He impressed his Blackhawks teammates, too.
Late in the second period of the Hawks' 4-0 victory over the Lightning, the winger gloved a puck out of midair, dropped it and before it hit the ice swatted it past Tampa Bay goaltender Antero Niittymaki.
"I tried to do it, but I wasn't expecting it," Hossa said. "I hit it right on the money. I think I hit it straight out of the air."

Hawks defenseman Duncan Keith admired the effort.
"It was a nice play by him," Keith said. "He's got that skill level not too many guys have. Not too many guys can make that goal. It's great that he's on our team now."
Added coach Joel Quenneville: "Pretty to watch. You're not going to see many highlight goal like that. That was a great play. He's probably a good tennis player as well."
The goal came nine minutes after Hossa fired a blind backhand pass from behind the Tampa goal across the crease to teammate Ben Eager, who chipped the puck in. Nine games into his Hawks career, Hossa seems to be settling in nicely.
"I'm getting more comfortable," said Hossa, who now has four goals and five assists. "When you're playing more and more games you get the good habits and get the system and you get comfortable."
