Tiger Woods says he has let his family down and regrets "those transgressions with all of my heart."

In a statement today on his Web site, Woods says he has not been "true to my values and the behavior my family deserves."

He offered his "profound apology" to his supporters.

His comments came after Us Weekly magazine published a cover story alleging that a Los Angeles cocktail waitress had a 31-month affair with the world's No. 1 golfer.

Jaimee Grubbs told the magazine she met Woods at a Las Vegas nightclub the week after the 2007 Masters -- two months before Woods' wife, Elin Nordegren, gave birth to their first child. Grubbs claims to have proof in 300 text messages.

Tody, the magazine published what it said was a voicemail provided by Grubbs that she said was left by Woods on Nov. 24, three days before his early morning car crash outside his home near Orlando.

In his statement, Woods did not offer details of any alleged relationship.

"I will strive to be a better person and the husband and father that my family deserves," he said.

He also said he has been "dismayed to realize the full extent of what tabloid scrutiny really means."

Despite the "intense curiosity" about his life, Woods said "there is an important and deep principle at stake which is the right to some simple, human measure of privacy."

And he continued to say accounts that physical violence played a role in his Friday morning car crash were "utterly false and malicious."

"Elin has always done more to support our family and shown more grace than anyone could possibly expect," he wrote.

His statement came one day after the Florida Highway Patrol closed its investigation into the accident -- without Woods ever speaking to state troopers. He was charged with careless driving, which carries a $164 fine and four points on his driving record.

The story soon shifted from a patrol investigation to sordid allegations into his personal life.

In the voicemail released by the magazine, a man says to Grubbs:

"Hey, it's, uh, it's Tiger. I need you to do me a huge favor. Um, can you please, uh, take your name off your phone. My wife went through my phone. And, uh, may be calling you. If you can, please take your name off that and, um, and what do you call it just have it as a number on the voicemail, just have it as your telephone number. That's it, OK. You gotta do this for me. Huge. Quickly. All right. Bye."

The Associated Press could not confirm Woods was the caller.

To market in terms of quality rather than monetary value, and in order to differentiate consequently, you require to adopt the classic format of the 4 Ps marketing plan. That is, Price, Product, Place and Promotion evidently you recognize the bad properties of the merchandise, and the price, but for place you should remember around the type of people who are willing to pay over 4x price of competing product whereas the low-budget option may be sold where emphasis is on cost, your product will be suited to places/distributors where the customers will be willing to pay for high-performance. Thank you for this article! I've just learned a easily unbelievable site about true marketing Try it!

For those who say, just leave him alone, it sounds like it was a little more than a domestic dispute. That is why the police are involved. I just hope that this will be a one time event that will fade into the public memory.

Is Tiger gonna have a home made video released?

How disappointing! I thought Tiger was different! But now I know he's just another self-centered, immature guy who thinks with his $%^## instead of his brain. How sad!!! He isn't my idol anymore.

I notice the picture of Tiger posted by the Tribune along with this article has his tounge hanging out. Could be the golf ball remindes him of some white puntange he has tasted??

Must be nice to be able to remanin anonymous while spouting such garbage. You're a worthless person. Actually I am even more tired of the stupid comments by worthless people than I am of the story itself. None of you of course have ever had any of the problems of which you accuse Woods.

What do you expect from an arrogant selfish pro athlete. They all think they are above decent behavior that the rest of us usually abide by. They are put on pedestals and praised for being alive so they feel they can do anything they want. Dumb is not a loosely used word but when you use your second head to overrule your first head then that is the only word that can be used. Now that you have apologized you might think it is over but until you come completely clean specualtion will always be there which will run rampant on you and your family and it is deserved. You have accepted the adulation and the rewards that come with it but now you are going to pay the price and you have earned and deserved it. I have nio sympathy for you.

Tiger....your the man! Keep tappin those hotties. World is going to end in 2012 so why waist this couple years we have left. I know I'm enjoying my life before 2012.

Talk about low class. Asking his mistress to change her caller ID when his wife was 7 months pregnant with their first child.
Now there is a real role model for ya !!!!

yeah yeah yeah on December 2, 2009 6:48 PM

Who Cares!!!!!!!!!!! Tiger makes golf boring. All 4 women must be bored and just looking for some money. Tiger is about as exciting to listen to as paint drying.

It may not be any of your business but it is MY business. I have an inquiring mind.

you gotta kind of feel for this broken down hero. anyway here's the Top 10 Tiger Woods Golf Videos Of All Time but it's not what you think... it's way funnier. don't feel bad for anybody involved in this, maybe tigers kids right. but they are all adults.

Tiger isn't the first, Tiger won't be the last and, it's none of our business.

It is none of our business.

One thing Tiger will never be called is an attention whore. There are plenty of celebs out there dying for all the attention you're giving this man who doesn't even want it. Paris Hilton is crying in her mansion.

MediaCurves.com conducted a study among 301 Americans about the rumors regarding Tiger Woods’ accident. Among the rumors, Woods’ alleged affair with Rachel Uchitel was the rumor that most respondents believed to be true. Nearly one-third of Americans indicated that they now have a more negative perception of Tiger Woods and 18% stated that they were less likely to purchase products endorsed by Tiger Woods. Tiger's wife chased him with a mid iron and hit the window flush. Footage here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7juaSFcTU7c

Word to the ladies out there, eat like a pig and you will get treated like a pig.

transgression - come on Tiger - man up and just say you had an affair - big man hiding behind a big word that means you cheated on the wife - just like 1/2 of all the married men in the world ... can we stop crying for him now

Tony and Brandon stop blaming him for others problems. Nobody is perfect. I have never watched a golfing match and never will, but both sound like you have never heard of the word accountability.

No celebrity, no matter how good or bad should be your kids role model. They should like the person but they should never praise them. I have explained that to my 6 year old and you should too.

He is a role model to millions of children. Obviously, this is a huge disappointment because I thought he was above behavior like this, but apparently he is not.

Seriously, with all the men who cheat on their wives, how is this even news?

Actually it is our business when you worked for one of Tigers sponsors and they lay you off citing economic reasons but they still honor his contracts and pay him millions. A cheating role model is not more important than keeping people who actually work for a living.
