PHOENIX -- Derrick Rose likes to say he's a pass-first guard who only tries to take over games offensively if the need is there.
But one could excuse the Bulls' guard if he shot every time he touched it tonight against the Suns.
Rose joined a huge initiative created by the Wasserman Media Group, which has 47 NBA players as clients, to donate a minimum of $500,000 to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund. President Clinton will announce the program at halftime of tonight's Knicks-Lakers game, and Rose is one of 10 clients who plans to donate $1,000 for every point scored.
"It means a lot to me to help out," Rose said. "That situation is part of all of us, the world period. It makes you feel good to donate and help others. I'm a caring guy so that's something that really hurt me."
Rose joked that he indeed planned to shoot more because "the more I score, the more I help out."

The Wasserman Media Group initiative, which also featured unspecified
contributions from Bulls rookie James Johnson and former Bull Ben
Wallace, is just one of many philanthropic efforts to assist Haiti
across the sports landscape.
At SoxFest back in Chicago, the White Sox created a booth strictly for donations to relief for Haiti and also created an online auction at whitesox.com/auctions, whose proceeds were to be matched by White Sox Charities in a donation to UNICEF.
The University of Notre Dame created several initiatives, most notably donating the full gate receipts and net concession revenue from both the men's basketball game vs. DePaul and women's basketball game against West Virginia. Both Saturday games are expected to be sellouts.
Nationally, the MLB Network aired "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief," the star-studded entertainment telethon that took place in various locales around the world Friday night.
