White Sox oppose 'Cubs tax' for new ballpark

What the Cubs and fans really need is a new Wrigley. Sell off the old lady piece by piece, make a deal to use US Cell for a year, build a new Wrigs ivy and all, host a World Series. Now who wouldn't want that?

Typical Cubs fan who thinks they are owed everything, and it is a tribute. It is sad that the other teams can build their own stadiums with public support and not have to pay tribute to the other teams. By the way, my "lattle?" man disease is non-existent, I've watched my team win a World Series.

This is a silly non-issue. The Cubs outdraw the average Cactus league team by a factor of 2-to-1. The other teams in AZ experience their highest attendance of the season when hosting the Cubs and their fans. Simply stated the Cubs' are a cash cow for the entire Cactus League. Given the choice between league-wide ticket surcharges and losing the Cubs to Florida the league would vote unanimously in favor of surcharges. The only exceptions might be the White Sox and Diamondbacks. The Sox are still struggling with "lattle man disease" in Chicagoe and the Diamondbacks are understandably embarrassed at being outdrawn by tens-of-thousands of fans in their home state.

Ship THERE sorry asses off to Florida or any other state that might want them.

While THEIR obsession with all things Cubs has reached almost creepy levels, you do have to admit, THEIR posts can be mildly amusing to read.

A tribute... I think you mean a travesty. More charges for the already expensive tickets. I bet the cable companies will buy out rights to the games too, just so we can't watch either.

It's not a tax. It's tribute.
