Luol Deng, Brad Miller and Taj Gibson sat out Wednesday's Bulls practice at the Berto Center.

Deng underwent an MRI exam on his strained right calf Wednesday morning, which revealed a "Grade 1 or 2" strain, according to coach Vinny Del Negro. Deng suffered the injury in Tuesday's loss to the Jazz. He will travel to Florida, where the Bulls play back-to-back games against the Magic and Heat Thursday and Friday. But Del Negro said it's unlikely Deng will play in either game.

"I think he's going to be out for a little bit," Del Negro said.

Miller typically gets practice days off to rest but also banged his thumb in Tuesday's game, although he is expected to play. Gibson's plantar fasciitis has been acting up and Del Negro said Gibson might not play.

"I'm having a harder time fighting through it," Gibson said late Tuesday. "It's been affecting me more lately, so I'm trying to block it out."

Good luck trying to predict the Bulls' starting lineup against the Magic.

Why does the reasoning to forget this season because free agency and "full boat" acquisitions are on the horizon? The longer the Bulls continue to look like a train wreck as the this season winds down, the less attractive they will look to the top free agents. Can you say Jerry Krause? Will we see Benny the Bull as our O'Hare greeter again?

to george, on the draft pick swap; the pick is top 10 protected. so, if the Bulls do miss the playoffs and luck in to a top 3 pick, they get to keep it. granted, the likelier scenario is that Milwaukee will get to jump about 5 spots. from approx. 20, to 15 or so.

Time to break out Acie Law, Joe Alexander, and Chris Richard.
Even make Jerome James put on a uniform. It's going to get ugly on this road trip and probably the rest of the season. A few more games and everyone can forget about this season and think about the free agents, hopefully, to come. Looks like trading first round picks with the Milwaukee Bucks turning out to be another Gar/Pax goof but at least the Bulls cleared cap space.

Someone needs to look into the shoes these players are wearing. Plantar fiscilitus is an injury that didn't exist during the dynasty year or before. Put them in Converse High Tops.

Let's just hope for another miracle lottery draw. Finishing in the top three would get them a stud. This season is toast.

Sit down Rose too. Why risk injury when the season is over?

People! Get a grip! Does anybody out there understand that this year is a throwaway? Making the playoffs this year would be nice (experience, attracting free agents) but, in the scheme of things, means nothing. This team (mgmt) is all about getting that BIG F.A.(or 2?) this summer. The trades had to happen. Salmons better than Hinrich? Nonsense! Salmons is doing well in Mil. because he's happy to be there. i.e. starting. The team is doing well, sucess breeds sucess, and he wants to impress the new city, see what Warrick & Murray did when they first got here? He'll settle back to reality soon enough. Who, around here, even heard of John Salmons before the Bulls traded for him?
The best defender on this team is Noah, NOT T.T.! Tyrus was Not going to be a part of this team, moving forward.
Hinrich is a much better all-around player than J.S. will ever be. I do admit he's a bit overpaid, BUT that cap number might be needed in a sign and trade this summer.
Here's a scenario; Sign Joe Johnson (maybe just a bit under max?) Sign and trade Hinrich, Deng, 1st rd pk (or 2 if that;s what it takes) for Bosch. Kurt & Lu's $$ is more than a max deal so you save a bit for others (with no 1st rder to pay also) maybe can re-sign Brad for MLE.
A Noah/Bosch starting and Miller/Gibson bench, would be the deepest front court in the league. A Rose/Johnson guard tandem could let you develop J.J. at 3.
Would that be a team to get excited about? or what?
We've got to be looking at the BIG PICTURE!

Why in the world is VINNIE playing Deng so many minutes while JJ was playing so well and covering Deng's guy better than Deng. Deng was NOT having a real good game and JJ was . (fir the 4 min or so he played). Then Vinnie sits him almost the whole rest of the game.. Is Vinnie trying to kill the starters . He says the bench must produce, but he doesnt play the guy(JJ) on the bench that is looking good..
Either Vinnie is a moron or the Bull Management told him to get a lottery pick .. It seems that way .

I am a die hard fan and can't even watch this team play anymore past the third quarter. They killed the chemistry with the trades!!! They should have never traded Tyrus Thomas. I would have kept Salmons over Hinrich. Hinrich goes cold for 2 week stretches!!!
Furthermore, how does it make sense to trade Salmons with an 'option' for 1 year at 6 million instead of Hinrich who is on the books for another 3 years at almost 30 million??? The game is all about mismatches and Hinrich does not give you one single mismatch! AND, if we would have unloaded Hinrich now, that would have left money to pay Noah and Rose! I bet they trade Noah before Hinrich!

The Bulls Organization Sucks on March 10, 2010 3:54 PM

Were is the story about the bulls making a mistake on trading there best defender/shot blocker in Tyrus Thomas. And it looks like the teams that the bulls made trades with, are teams that will make the playoffs WOW. If i was a free agent i wouldnt want to come to the bulls look how they treat there players. This organization is below standards, and us as fans keep watching, why because we love our teams, but do they love us back. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

It's the same old song, but with a different beat...4 Tops theme song for the Bulls

Well, that's a wrap on this season. Shut them all down and wait for the ping pong ball. There won't be a significant FA signing this summer so hopefully they get a decent pick to beginning the rebuilding with a new coach, GM and asst GM hopefully.

I'm not one to blame management or coaching as much as the players for dismal stretches of losing like the streak da Bulls are going through. With that said, it's getting really hard to follow the team right now. I am a die-hard fan who normally watches every game. Last night I was speechless with their effort starting at the end of the third quarter. They gave up once the Jazz started playing. Now some of the guys will be joining Noah on the bench. Coincidence? I think not. This team is lacking heart, strength, and fortitude more than anything. Coaching, management, talent....you name it. It's the same shi* every year with this team. They will miss the playoffs and endure another offseason of question marks. Hard to believe after a seemingly positive year.
