CLEVELAND -- A fan wearing a Miami Heat jersey of LeBron James drew the ire of the crowd at a Cleveland Indians game and was escorted out of the ballpark.
Fans in the left-field bleachers chanted obscenities and pointed at the man Wednesday night during the sixth inning of the game between the Indians and New York Yankees. Hundreds of fans joined in before security led the man out of Progressive Field.
As he left, some fans followed him toward the gate with more derisive chants.
James' recent departure from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Heat caused a lot of anger in the city.
Many fans were near the left-field foul pole in hopes of catching the 600th home run ball by Alex Rodriguez.

@ Really?
Thanks for taking the point well beyond where it was supposed to go.
The guy had to know before he left home that he was going to be verbally abused. I'm guessing it was his intent. Similar to how a girl walking into a biker bar with a short skirt would know she was going to get comments.
Of course, if he had gotten the crap kicked out of him, he wouldn't have deserved THAT, similar to a girl not deserving to be attacked.
And I'm guessing that's why the cops escorted him from the game -- because the possibility of this guy getting the crap kicked out of him was probably pretty high.
"Yeah, anyone can wear what they wanna wear, but in doing so, they have to accept responsibility for what they provoke others into doing."
Right. So when a girl walks home in a short skirt, she must accept responsibility for being raped, if such an act occurs. Sound logic.
There's a difference between what one 'can' do and what one 'should' do.
Yeah, anyone can wear what they wanna wear, but in doing so, they have to accept responsibility for what they provoke others into doing.
The LeDecision thing is still a sore subject in Cleveland, and I'm guessing he probably was doing a lot of the kind of crap he's doing in the pic. So he irritated the people around him to the point where he was escorted out for his own safety.
The guy needs to be honest with himself. What was he really trying to do? In the end, he got what he wanted -- to be the center of attention for a couple of hours.
Does anyone think he really wanted to see the end of the game, anyway?
Is he "popping" the jersey too? A desperate attempt for attention. What a tool....
What business is it of other fans what he wears to a ballgame as long as it is legal? I hope he sues the Indians. What did the Indians do to the other fans acting illegally?
Paulie,
He didn't get kicked out, he was escorted out. Big difference.
This was for his own safety. The probability is high that there is at least one idiot in that crowd that will go from yelling insults and take it to the next level.
The bigger question should be.....what adult seriously still wears basketball jerseys? Unless you are a basketball player, you don't look good in them.
I don't understand why he was kicked out of the stadium, it doesn't seem right.
Unless he was purposly trying to get at the Cle fans then I dont get why he should be kicked out. Your allowed to wear jerseys at a sporting event. Lebron has one of the highest selling jerseys in the league and your telling me that anyone who wears one is not allowed in a Cle sporting event? Fans are allowed to cheer for whoever they want to cheer for, in a appropriate manner. So the main part left out of this story is wether that fan was doing anything of the sort. The picture could have been taken after he was being heckled and he reacted.
MIAMI HEAT WINS: Miami is Lebron's new home and we will give him a championship.
You're right. You will have to GIVE him a championship because everyone knows he is incapable of leading a team towards one. So yeah, the Heat might win a few titles but Lebrat will never be anything more than a jester in Wade's court.
GET OVER IT CLEVELAND !
Miami is Lebron's new home and we will give him a championship.
Its like your girlfriend left you for a better looking , more succesful man, I know it hurts but you will soon love again. LMAO!!!
Just looking at that guy makes me want to buy a plane ticket and beat the living daylights out of him. The Cleveland fans shouldve tossed him over the rail and say it was an "accident." I mean look at him, he's totally asking for it!
If he was acting like most of these bandwagon-jumping Heat fans, he probably was the one taunting first...they've been extra unclassy since "the decision." they've become message board trolls...
wow.. he just wanted attention from the media and the whole ballpark..
richardo-
Philly fans are far worse. Those cops should have taken that kid out back and beaten the piss out of him. Even if he wasn't wearing the jersey he was asking for it by wearing those flaming torn jeans.
Cleveland fans are really classy.
In a class all by themselves.
Way to show some Cajones Cleveland Fans the Chosen One ran out on your city like a punk you just need remind your Cavs team that each of them have 6 fouls when the Heat come to Cleveland!
