Carlos Zambrano threw two scoreless innings Saturday night in Triple-A Iowa's 4-2, 13-inning win over Round Rock.
Zambrano came on in the seventh inning and was stretched out to 29 pitches, allowing one hit while striking out three hitters and notching his first hold. He's expected to make at least one more appearance before joining the Cubs in Colorado next weekend.
Zambrano was not made available to the media once again, and is not expected to talk about his June 25 blow-up in the dugout at U.S. Cellular Field until he apologizes to his teammates.

what can an apology do ? his teammates don't want him back. hendry should get rid of him before the trade deadline. i'm sure some team in the east would take him.
He's a bum. Get him off the team before he totally self destructs.
There's a phrase that fits a player like Zambrano. He got fat and sassy. He was very fortunate to come along at the time the Cub organization was having misfortune with Prior and Wood's injuries, and managed to stay healthy himself long enough to win some games and show some promise. The Cubs, who were desperate for some stability with it's starting pitching, rewarded Zambrano greatly for being the one who was showing the most promise. Unfortunately, they didn't count on Z getting fat and sassy, and not caring or having enough pride to justify the teams faith and loyalty to him. Only in sports can a person be given a king's ransom, and get away with giving nothing in return.
Here's hoping the Cubs manage to dump him off on another team before he wastes a roster spot in Chicago. Maybe he and Milton Bradley can get together in a city where nobody cares if they win or lose. Or he could stay in 3A ball as the first 18 million dollar minor leaguer.
i saw the game. he wasn't getting his breaking stuff over for strikes. he blew them away with his fastball but they're minor leaguers he was pitching to and the round rock express doesn't have any dangerous hitters. they hit it hard right back at him 2 times but he batted it down and threw them out. he needs to stay there until he has better command of all his pitches. he got behind in the count several times.
