Notre Dame appears to be adding to its 2011 recruiting haul at a late date, thanks to an erstwhile member of that class.
Offensive lineman Jordan Prestwood committed to the Irish, then backed out to sign with Florida State and enroll early there -- and now he is expected to transfer to Notre Dame pending admission and paperwork.
Irish Illustrated is reporting Prestwood-to-Notre Dame as all but a done deal while Irish Sports Daily is confirming Prestwood's intent to transfer. Neither Florida State nor Notre Dame had any official comment late Thursday, and Notre Dame isn't permitted to discuss Prestwood until it receives signed scholarship paperwork regardless.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound Prestwood was a three-star prospect out of Plant City, Fla., according to Rivals.com. Prestwood would have to sit out the 2011 season under NCAA transfer rules.
One-time commit Prestwood heading to Notre Dame?
