Cashner, Wells throw light sessions
Despite morning rain Friday, Cubs starters Randy Wells and Andrew Cashner played catch for the first time since they were put on the disabled list April 8.

Neither threw off the mound in the light sessions and both reported no pain, Wells in his forearm and Cashner in his shoulder.

"It felt good," Wells said. "It was just a light catch. We didn't really want to push anything this early."

"I was excited to come in today -- I got to throw the ball and be a part of the team again," Cashner said. "(The shoulder) feels real good, we just need some warm weather."

Both are still weeks away from returning to the Cubs' rotation.
